Welcome to apistash
apistash is a hosted MCP (Model Context Protocol) server — one endpoint that puts your AI agents to work on the tools, systems, and knowledge you already have, with no glue code to write. Point your client at the endpoint and your agents can act on your infrastructure, instead of a bespoke integration for every task.
What your agents get
Through a single MCP endpoint, apistash gives your agents four governed primitives — to act on your systems, work from your knowledge, stay consistent, and adopt a durable role:
- Tools to act on your systems — 70+ built-in tools (math, hashing, JWT and TOTP, encoding, conversion, URL helpers, caching, and more), plus your own custom tools that turn any HTTP API — a CI/CD pipeline, a webhook, an internal service — into a tool your agent calls.
- Knowledge to work from — resources: ADRs, coding standards, reports, and data your agents read for the project at hand.
- Consistent instructions — prompts: reusable, versioned templates so every agent that uses them follows the same standards.
- Versioned behavior — agent definitions: centrally managed identities with always-on and conditional behavior that you assign to a credential.
Bring your team, too: organizations and teams share one catalogue across members — internal or external — and a fine-grained access model controls exactly what each credential can reach.
Agents can even create and maintain this content themselves over MCP — see Managing your content.
Quick start
apistash is free to start — create a free account at app.apistash.io, choose the tools, resources, prompts, and agent definitions your agent should be able to use, generate an API key with the corresponding MCP capabilities selected, and point your agent at the MCP endpoint. A key with no capabilities still has the three authenticated system tools, but cannot access any governed native MCP surface or agent definition:

}
That's it. Your agent is connected to the MCP surfaces and content you granted. You choose the tool selection under Settings → MCP Settings in the dashboard; it keeps each agent's context small and its tool choice sharp. See the Quick Start for the two-minute walkthrough.
apistash publishes standard discovery metadata, so an OAuth-capable client can walk you through sign-in after you register that client in the dashboard. apistash does not dynamically register an unknown client. See Authentication → OAuth.
